Thinking Connections seeks to give you or your child the necessary skills to navigate through the challenges of life. We do this with non-threatening, fun activities combined with mediation (as used in Feuerstein, see below). It is our goal to see each child overcome challenges and to be successful in all areas of life.
We are using The Feuerstein Method which is a positive way of working with clients. This method has received favourable press coverage alongside government funding and has been promoted in Australian schools and New Zealand's Centre for Brain Research.
The Feuerstein Method is a unique educational technique which combines specially designed instruments, mediation and a cognitive intervention programme that comprises pencil-and-paper instruments. These cognitive intervention tasks are intended to be readily transferable to all educational and everyday life situations. They may be taught in the classroom, an after-school enrichment setting or used as a part of a clinical therapy programme Through using this model of working our aim is also to help children overcome cognitive, emotional, psychological and social disabilities.
Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) is one of the most researched cognitive intervention programmes, with over one thousand related publications and hundreds of analyses on the performance of FIE in varied settings and populations.
We are very proud to be pioneering this model within Wales, UK!
